Atmosphere / Culture

We're a small and tight group who are practically like family to each other. We do a lot of stuff together, during the summer we take boat rides through the Amsterdam canals. On Friday's we sometimes do nerf gun fights through the building. We also organize yearly "game jams" in which we try to develop games in the shortest time possible and hold gaming marathons in the weekend to test them out. Some of these games end up being introduced to distributors.

The work you'll be doing

You love game-development and playful campaigns and enjoy creating solutions for sometimes complex questions the client has. You have great communication skills and can clearly explain technical matter to those that might not understand it. You work neatly and and can recognize spelling errors.

What we're looking for in you

  • Deep care about security and performance
  • You know how to set up a game and can start a project in a manner that others can work on it
  • Experience with multiplayer server technologies is a nice-to-have
  • Working knowledge of server side technologies (Apache, MySQL, PHP)
  • Actionscript 3.0 experience is a nice-to-have
  • Extensive experience with either Unity for web and iOS or extensive experience with writing objective-c for iOS directly

Company activities

Flavour is a game studio from Amsterdam that was founded in 2008. Since then we have worked for clients like the Amsterdam Museum, Volkswagen, Disney XD and Plan Nederland. Since the start, Flavour has created advergames for a multitude of brands. Next to that, Flavour used ‘Playful Learning’ to create playful solutions to interactively convey knowledge. At the moment our strength is in the creation of Flash games for the web. We’re currently moving towards HTML5 and iOS

About this workplace

We're based in a former pickle factory which interior we've redesigned ourselves. The composition of the interior tends to change a lot since we move our desks around when working on different projects. We're a team of 8 who are almost like family to each other. We do a lot together. For example: we tried to learn Japanese together. In the summer we take boat trips through the Amsterdam canals. To relax we play fußball or hang around the arcade machine for some Killer Instinct.
