Content wants to be free, and so do you

We use Creative Commons so you can freely share, remix, and build upon the stuff you find on WOVOX. All we ask is that you stick to a couple of conditions.

What we can('t) do with your stuff

Whenever you upload something to WOVOX or write a review, you'll see a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike license next to your work: Creative Commons logo

Sounds complicated, but simply means this: other people & the WOVOX Team are free to share and remix your stuff, even for commercial purposes, provided that 1) you get credited for it ('Attribution') and 2) it happens under the same conditions ('Share Alike').

Check Creative Commons to get the full lowdown.

Why Creative Commons?

We need open and freely accessible information for an open society. It enriches culture, gives people a voice, inspires to action and connects. And it empowers the greatest artists in the most unlikely places. Creative Commons gives you the tools to make this happen; conventional copyright licenses don't.

Why this license?

It's one of the most open versions, celebrating authenticity ('give credits to the person who created it') and helping ensure that everything's passed on in the same spirit ('share under the same conditions'). With only these two conditions, we feel it helps WOVOX stay true to what it stands for.

(On a side note: if you have a batch of extremely valuable content and you want to share it on WOVOX but under a different license: please get in touch with us!)

Do Creative Commons Yourself

Creative Commons is designed to save the world from failed sharing. It works for a richer and more vibrant culture, giving you tools to mark your creative work with the freedom you want it to carry. Visit CreativeCommons.org for more info. And check out where Creative Commoners do their thing !
